Kentucky Lake - Courtesty ExploreKentuckyLake.comKentucky Lake is a recreational playground for outdoor enthusiasts.  The lake is 184 miles long and nearly two miles wide which makes it the largest body of water between the Great Lakes and Gulf of Mexico.

In addition to the typical activities such as boating and fishing, the Kentucky Lake area is home to many other recreational activities ranging from wildlife-viewing to golfing to dining out.  There is something for everyone!

  • Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area
    Enjoy wildlife viewing, bicycling, hiking, horseback riding, and scenic drives through this 170,000-acre National Recreation Area.  You can also experience attractions in LBL by visiting the Homeplace 1850, the Woodlands Nature Station, the Golden Pond Planetarium, and the Elk & Bison Prairie.
  • Patti's 1880s Settlement
    Arguably the most famous restaurant in our region, Patti's 1880s Settlement offers delicious pork chops, steaks, seafood, salads and desserts.  Thousands flock each winter to see the beautiful Christmas lights display.  Patti's also has several shops and other family-fun activities.  It is a must-see for anyone who visits the Kentucky Lake area.
  • Murray State University
    MSU offers diverse cultural experiences with art exhibits, the Wrather West Kentucky Museum, theater and more.  Be on the lookout for concerts and events at the CFSB Center and Lovett Auditorium.
  • Kenlake State Resort Park
    Kenlake offers short hiking trails, a full-service marina, two on-site restaurants, picnic areas with pavilions and playgrounds for the kids.
  • Murray Area Restaurants
    Enjoy nearly 70 restaurants with all types of cuisine.  Murray offers many ethnic choices including Japanese, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Vietnamese, and of course several traditional sit-down franchise and fast food restaurants.  You can also visit nearby restaurants in Aurora, Benton and Cadiz.
  • Kentucky Lake Area Golf Courses
    Hit the links with 18 holes of golf at Miller Memorial Golf Course, just a few miles from our lodge.  This is a public course owned by Murray State University.  You can also check out Sullivan's Par 3 Golf Course for nine holes of action and a driving range.  In addition to nearby lake area golf courses, you can also visit Deer Lake Golf Course in Salem, Ky. and Edwin Paxton Golf Course in Paducah, Ky.
  • Venture River Waterpark
    Spend a day (or two) with the family at Venture River Waterpark in nearby Eddyville, Ky.  Located about 45 minutes from our lodge, Venture River offers many water slides (some small, some large), a wave pool, lazy river, free tubes and parking.
