Kentucky Lake Luxury Vacation Home Rental

About the Kentucky Lake Lodge

Kentucky Lake Lodge offers a 180-degree, unobstructed view of the lake and provides plenty of space for large families or groups of friends to relax, retreat from busy lives, fellowship, and build memories. Owner Will Noyes designed the house with his oldest son, aiming to create a comfortable vacation retreat for their own family that could be shared with others. They especially love the lake view, morning sunrises, and undeveloped shoreline of the national recreation area, Land Between the Lakes.

The timber frame house seems natural near the serenity of massive Kentucky Lake and takes Noyes back to his childhood in northeastern Pennsylvania, where there was a timber frame barn, coal burning stove and Christmas stockings hung around his grandparents’ large, stone fireplace.

“My favorite times were when extended family would all come together and share days of fun, eating, and just hanging out,” Noyes said. “Now living so far from Pennsylvania, we wanted to recapture some of these memories by building a large home that could accommodate four smaller families while at the same time allowing for personal space of those residing – something which we didn't always have in childhood!”

With about 8,000 square feet, there are six bedrooms that sleep 17 people and 6 ½ bathrooms. A kitchen, dining area, great room, office, hallway bathroom, master bedroom (with attached master bath), and laundry room fill the main level of the house.

The kitchen offers lots of space to cook, store groceries and gather as it opens up to the living room, which has a magnificent stone fireplace and large windows framing panoramic views of the lake. State-of-art appliances and a walk-in pantry also provide renters’ plenty of kitchen conveniences. Off the kitchen is a laundry room and access to the three-vehicle, 900-square foot garage. Each room on the main floor offers incredible views of Kentucky Lake.

From the great room, which boasts a 27-foot ceiling, a double door opens wide to the back deck that spans the length of the house. With multiple views of the lake as a backdrop, the deck has outdoor seating and tables and a large grill. Back inside, there is an office with a computer, printer, and small library available to renters.

The master bedroom has a 17-foot ceiling, king bed, large walk-in closet, and an attached bathroom that is lavishly appointed with double vanities, a whirlpool tub, and a combination steam/dual-headed shower.

Three of the other bedrooms are upstairs. Each offers lake views, room-darkening shades, and attached bathrooms. Also on the second floor is a sitting loft area that overlooks the main great room.

Two bedrooms have king beds. Another has four sets of sturdy, extra-long bunk beds – perfect for accommodating kids or adults – in a spacious room with a 12-foot ceiling. That bedroom also has a media area with seating. “The kids love their private bunk room area where they all sleep, hang out, play music, and video games,” Noyes said. “The adults like the bunk room because it is above the garage and therefore less noisy!”

In the basement, families and friends can enjoy each other around the pool table, ping pong table, bar/kitchen area, living room, fireplace and 110" big screen in the theater. There’s also access to an outside porch and plenty of views of Kentucky Lake. The theater has comfortable, reclining stadium seating for six people plus room for others, a DVD library, and bar-top table for two.

Two more bedrooms are in the basement. One has a king bed with an attached full bathroom (double vanity and dual shower heads) and access to the lower porch. The sixth bedroom has a twin bed and an additional dining table and chairs.

“We felt it important to provide private baths for each bedroom, upper and lower kitchens, and separate theater rooms for the adults and children. I wanted to eliminate visitors’ fears about living with another family for a short period in close quarters. But most importantly, I wanted a home that my three children would come back to with their families as they grew older.”

The house sits on a private point lot overlooking the main channel. A cove off the main channel provides the perfect location for the covered private dock with lights and a ladder for getting in and out of the water. The dock is perfect for fishing, swimming, sunbathing, and docking your boat. A large gangway connects the dock to the shore with cement walkways leading back to the house.

Noyes and his family make use of all the house’s features and enjoy the surrounding lake and land. With 160,309 acres, Kentucky Lake is the nation’s largest man-made lake. The state’s largest white bass (5 pounds), Buffalo carp (55 pounds), and yellow perch (1 pound 4 ounces) were taken from Kentucky Lake, according to information from Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.

Kentucky Lake Lodge is located in Western Shores, a subdivision that overlooks 300 miles of protected, untouched shoreline at Land Between The Lakes, which is recreational property managed by U.S. Forest Service between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. These two lakes combine for 4,000 miles of shoreline and more than 300 miles of water.

Kentucky Lake Lodge renters have access to two large marinas, a community pool and hot tub, outdoor covered pavilion, two ponds, and numerous walking trails as part of the Western Shores subdivision.

“We like movie nights, playing games and making pancakes on the large griddle in the main kitchen. We like taking walks, resting in the hammock, and hanging out on the deck and dock. We love watching the bald eagles and other wildlife from the deck. The kids love tubing on the lake and exploring the Land Between the Lakes shoreline and cliffs during pontoon rides,” Noyes said. “My teenager summed it up best about going to Kentucky Lake: ‘You never get bored, but if you do, it's probably because you need a nap. The only time you need to leave the house is to get groceries.’”
